This is the second day of your 7-day Everest trek package, and it begins with a 30- to 45-minute flight from Kathmandu City to Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla Village.

We head towards Namche Bazaar on this 3rd day of Short Everest Trek’s amazing journey. We eat our food first in the break of the day and depart from Phakding village. We are walking most of the trail following the riverbank along with crossing many suspension bridges on the left side of the Dudh Koshi Khola River.
And the trek will be tougher than yesterday’s trekking journey. We are ascending about 800 meters high to reach Namche Bazaar, which is nearly 800 meters higher than Phakding village. Along the course, we’ll pass through the settlements of Bengkar and Monjo, where we’ll enter Sagarmatha National Park and have our permits checked to continue further.
Then, we descend through the forest to the Dudh Koshi River and reach Jorsale, which also happens to be the last teahouse area before Namche Bazaar. We’ll have our lunch here before continuing our excursion. Afterward, we’ll cross another suspension bridge over the river and continue ascending the valley.
We will walk about six to seven hours from Phakding village, covering 10 to 12 kilometers, to finally reach the Namche Bazaar. This place is the key Sherpa settlement and the gateway to Everest, which is located at a height of 3440 meters or 11283 feet. We spend overnight here in a guest house, along with enjoying the best views in this Everest short trekking journey.
