Langtang Region
Langtang Region is third largest and popular trekking region of Nepal. This trekking region is very near from the Kathmandu which is easily accessible through 4/5 hours bus drive from Kathmandu. This region is very rich in terms of scenic beauty, biodiversity and unique Tamang culture. The popular places of this region are Langtang valley, Gosaikunda Lake and Helambu village. Langtang valley is also called valley of glacier so this is the best place to see beautiful glacier, beside the scene of glacier this valley is also popular for different kinds of birds and beautiful landscape. Helambu is an ideal place to see the stunning glimpse of the mountains and charming Landscapes. This area is inhabited by Yhalmu people who are very rich in their culture tradition and festivals. Another important place of the region is Gosaikunda Lake which is holiest pilgrimage sites of the Hindu people. There is great festival held in every august full moon. Langtang region offer the stunning glimpse of the beautiful peaks such as Langtang Lirung (7246m.), Gang Chhenpo (6388m.), NayaKangri (5846m.), Yala peak (5700m.) and DorjeLhakpa (6966m.). Langtang region trekking trail goes through the beautiful flora and fauna of the Langtang National park such as rhododendrons, larch, wildflowers, gentians, primroses, epiphytic orchids, hoopoe, cuckoos, barbets, owls, nightjars, laughing thrushes, black-capped sibias, red-billed and yellow-billed magpies, minivet, slaty-headed parakeet, langurs, pikas.
Similarly, trekking trail of Langtang region crosses the several villages of Tamang ethnic people where trekkers get opportunity to explore the unique Tamang culture and festivals. Moreover Tamang people are very skilled to make different kinds of attractive handicraft so you can buy them. There are many clam lakes, pristine Rivers, artistic falls and beautiful landscape in the Langtang region which adds more attraction of the region.
