Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking is the shortest and exhilarating trek in the Annapurna Region Trekking. It is the easier trek in the Annapurna Region which can be done within a week. One gets opportunity to view the panorama of the mountains like Annapurna (8091m), Machhapuchchhre(6997m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), Himchuli (6,434), Lamjung Himal (6988m), Tukuche Peak (6920m), Mt. Nilgiri (7040m), Annapurna South (7219m) etc from Poon Hill located at the altitude of 3210m, the most famous mountain view point of Annapurna Region. From it you have the exciting close-up view of the highest and most beautiful mountains of Nepal.

This trek starts from Nayapul which is the gateway of Annapurna Region Trekking. The trail passes through dense forest of Rhododendron: National Flower of Nepal, valleys, hamlets like Ghorepani, Ghandruk etc of diverse ethnic groups, Tikhedhunga( 1577m) etc. The surroundings of colorful Rhododendron and pine forest with wild animals and birds, variation of the altitude, backdrops of mountain range along the trail is very astounding. During the autumn season, the blossoming of the Rhododendron is a most exciting and enthralling scenery. As the trail passes through different ethnic groups of Nepal like Gurung, Magar, etc you can explore their unique culture and tradition and their hospitality behavior. The trekking also offer the mix culture of Brahmin, Chhetri, Gurung, Magars, Thakalies etc. and their cooperative behavior living in harmony. This trek makes a circle that avoids the monotony of returning from the same routes and gives an opportunity to explore different test of adventure walking in Nepal. One of the remarkable attraction of this trek is the morning views from Poon Hill with sun rise in the white mountain which makes you feel that you are in heaven along with the Nepal's most attractive and dirt free village Ghandruk with Gurung community who had served in the Gorkha Armyduring the world war in many countries became familiar as BirGorkhali.


Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu airport(1310 m).
Day 02: Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley.
Day 03: Leave Kathmandu to go Pokhara (820 m), 7/8 hours in tourist bus or 30minflights.
Day 04: Drive to Nayapul (1010m) and trek to Tihkedhunga (1570m), 4/5 hours.
Day 05: Trek to GhorePani (2840m) and hike up poon hill (3210m) again trek to Tadapani (2610m), 6/7 hours.
Day 06: Trek to Gandruk (1940m) 4/5 hours.
Day 07: Ghandruk to Nayapul (1010m) and drive to Pokhara.
Day 08: Pokhara City Sightseeing Tour.
Day 09: Leave Pokhara and fly to Kathmandu.
Day 10: Departure to your own Destination.
