Seti River Rafting
Seti River, River of White Water runs through the western region of Nepal. The Seti is an excellent two day trip in an isolated area with beautiful jungle and plenty of easy rapids. Though Seti is known as the river of white water, it’s water is not purely white rather it’s water is the mixture of white clay, that’s why the water seems white. It is all about monsoon season, but in the winter season purity in its white water is not questionable.
The logical starting point of Seti River Rafting is Damauli which is situated on the Kathmandu – Pokhara (prithvi) highway between Mugling and Pokhara. You reach Damauli by 6 hours drive from Kathmandu or 2 hours from Pokhara. This Seti River give you 32km of rafting to the confluence with the Trisuli at Devghat.
The warm and beautiful Seti River can be consider as an excellent River for bird watchers. The gentle River follow from the Himalayan peaks having plenty lots of small and straightforward rapids. During the monsoon the intensity of the rapid increases and attracts a radically different set of waters.
It is also very warm well recommended to family trip and the best River to learn kayaking in Nepal. Moreover, Seti River travels through the area inhabited by Magar, who are renowned for generation of service with the Gurkha forces. So, those who are interested to this Magar community can take benefit from Seti River Rafting.
In Seti River, rafters can undergo the three types of rafting experience according to the international grade of rafting. From the season of September to December rafters can take the pleasure of 4 grade rafting. Similarly, from the season of January to May rafters can enjoy -4 grade rafting. In the same way, from the season of June to August rafters can have the fun with +4 grade rafting. Seti River Rafting ends at Devghat, where you can visit a unique religious community, well known among the Hindus. Every year in mid-January thousands of pilgrims visit the River and the ashram to worship. At this point where the Kaligandaki joins the Trisuli and become the Narayani River. You get a choice in this point between coming back to Kathmandu or continuing journey to visit the Chitwan National Park.
